The Culinary Experience

LA HUERTA: FROM GARDEN TO PLATE

A key part of their food philosophy is La Huerta,

the on-site organic mandala garden. More than a

source of ingredients, it’s a living part of the retreat.

With over 50 medicinal herbs and vegetables —

including butterfly pea, yerba mate, Mexican

thistle, and citronella — the garden brings local

plants into daily meals and infusions. Two hives of

indigenous bees produce small-batch medicinal

honey.

SOURCING & FLAVORS:

Ingredients not grown on-site are sourced from

local farmers, fishermen, and artisans. The menu

features traditional Costa Rican dishes — like

Fresh handmade gallos with their house chili —

alongside international options with regional flavor.

Mineral-rich locally sourced water, naturally filtered

on the property, is served with every meal.

At Rio Perdido, every meal is an integral part of the retreat journey — a time to gather, connect, and slow down.
